First you want to pick out some great looking paper for your design!
You can cut them in thin strips or thick, it doesn't really matter. What ever you like!
The Next few pictures will show you how to get that ruffled looked by bending over the paper to make little flaps.
There you have all your strips folded and ready to be sewn.
Sew each strip separate.
Cute Right?
I used this Spellbinders die cut to make the frame that will go over top the strips.
Make sure that your frame is the right size. If you are making a 4.5 x 5.5 card then you want to the frame a 4.125 x 5.375 to be exact.
You can save the cut out and make sure to keep the frame. I tapes only two sides but you might want to make two smaller strips to make it even more secure.
Now that you have all your strips of ruffles lined up, all you have to do is peel and place your frame over them like this...
This is the Score - Tape which I LOVE! I haven't used any other tape since I've been making cards. It sticks real good!!
You can find this product on there website Scor-Pal website. (click on Scor-Pal)
Cut off the extra paper but keep it and you can make another card using the scraps! I'll show you a card I just made using the little scrap lings!
Look! You have a cute little card on it's way being created and it's so exciting!
Flip that little guy over and scor-tape all the sides from top to button like this...
It peels in case you're confused how it sticks. It's double sided.
Press onto your card.
Neat little 3D look above card to see it's fluffiness.
As I mentioned above, I used the Labels Fourteen Spellbinder and the other is a Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly Double Punch that I got at Micheals Craft Store.
I made Three punches and taped the middles together and fanned out the wings.
OMGosh, it's so cute! I made two them!
I can't take all the credit for this design. A friend of mine found this card on Just Me Blog Site. I was so inspired by her card that I wanted to challenge myself and I think it turned out pretty cute. I used a different die cut and different butter fly and obviously different design paper. LOVE this idea! Thanks Elena of Just ME!!
